What is a carbon footprint?
It is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere by an individual as a result of his activities over a certain period of time, such as energy consumption, water, transportation, and food. Emissions of these gases pose a major environmental threat, as they lead to rising temperatures, cause severe weather phenomena, affect ecosystems, wildlife and marine life, and threaten coastal areas with rising sea levels. To meet this challenge, strategies must be adopted to reduce emissions and preserve the environment for future generations. In this context, and in an effort by the Authority to reduce the effects of global warming, we have taken it upon ourselves to spread awareness of the carbon footprint to achieve the goals of sustainable development for the sustainability of natural resources by applying the best international practices
